Race Report – Ahmen Sailboat Race #7
This race did not unfold quite according to plan. However, the lake seemed to be preoccupied setting itself like the sea, sharing large rolling waves all about.
Race Report
- Great sleep and well organized outside of knowing the start and course
- No 10:30 committee call so sailed out to start but didn’t know where the start was – got there with 10 minutes to go and couldn’t hear the course description on the radio.
- I was heading down to Dufferin vs. up to Gibraltar
- Outside of that – much more comfortable with tune and trim – sailed well
- Need to get MacTac/sharpie and water more in reach in higher wind
Lessons
- Get to the start 30 minutes early no matter what
- Know where you are going, the location of the buoys and the wind shifts thru the day
- Have marks in GPS
Results – C’est Dommage
7th place due to not knowing where I was going!
